It's Like I Hardly Knew Ya...
For me at least, the interest in photography progressed from taking 2 photos of 200 different things to taking 200 photos of 2 different things, in the search for getting that perfect shot. In fact, I was telling my friend on the day one post that I wished I had focused more on just 3-5 animals rather than trying to rush around and experience everything this event had to offer.
I feel the strongest about this when I look at the photos I took of this bird and the other you'll see in the future. By the time I got here, I had already criss-crossed the zoo a few times and was a bit tired from lugging around a bunch of equipment I never used.
Also, the group that had been scattered at different places in the morning all converged on this event and I was maybe a tad irritated at not being able to move around. At any rate, I wasnt feeling it as much as some of the others shoots and just fired off some shots and moved on.
The outcome of the photos doesn't bother me that much (it is what it is), but I do feel bad that I have no idea of what this is or whether or not he (or she) has a name. Looks like a parrot of some kind, but I couldn't find any information on the Zoo's website. Well, hopefully someone on instagram might know.
If I do this again, I'll focus more on the subject and less on my viewfinder.
